Alexis Bledel Biography: If you are a fan Gilmore Girls series then you should know the name of Alexis Bledel who portrayed Rory Gilmore there. A young star was born on September 16, 1981 in Houston, Texas to Mexican/Argentinian parents. She was a very shy girl in childhood and her mother decided to solve this problem by enrolling her daughter in community theater. Bledel became interested in acting but before she became famous as an actress she worked a bit as a fashion model. She was discovered while shopping at mall. Her debut and at the same time breakthrough role was in a series Gilmore Girls (2000) where she landed a role of a daughter of a single mother. In 2005 she portrayed a prostitute in a movie Sin City and according to reviews she appeared to be "a professional prostitute".
