Amy Winehouse Biography: Amy Winehouse, an English singer known for her talent to mix different music styles: jazz, soul, ska, rock and roll and R&B, is always recognized by her black mane, dark eye makeup and tattoos. Amy Winehouse was born on September 14, 1983 in Camden, London. Winehouse was singing all days long and Frank Sinatra was just one of her favourites. Her parents decided to support their daughter and enrolled her at Susi Earnshaw Theatre School. Amy was just ten when she found her first music group she sang with. At the age of thirteen Amy's parents presented her a guitar and in a year she started writing songs. Winehouse released her debut album Frank when she was twenty. The album was turned platinum and Amy Winehouse herself was compared to such famous singers as Lauryn Hill, Macy Gray, Christina Aguilera and others. The second album Back to Black was released in 2006 and became a top-ranked the same year. Of course, such a talent could not help remain unnoticed and Winehouse got a heap of awards including the most prestigious one the Brit Awards. Since 2008 Winehouse has a tradition to arrange club nights which she titled Snakehips at the Monarch. Winehouse's name often appears in media especially while discussing her health problems and alcohol and drug addiction.
