Anastacia Biography: According to the old proverb "A prophet is not recognized in his own land" the same happened with Anastacia, an American singer-songwriter who was popular everywhere except her own country. Anastacia Lyn Newkirk was born on September 17, 1968 in Chicago, Illinois, but after her parents divorced Anastacia with her mother moved to New York. She was fond of dancing and attended dancing school there but a girl had to quit it because of physical state: she was diagnosed Crohn's disease. Instead, her new talent was revealed - a vocalic one. Anastacia possesses soulful, edgy voice that seems not to match her small stature of 160 cm, so she got a nickname "The Little Lady with The Big Voice". She often appeared on Club MTV and in some music videos. After she got second place on MTV talent show "The Cut" Anastacia was offered a contract with Daylight Records. Here was the unstoppable start to Anastacia's fame. "Not That Kind" was her first album released in 2000. In a short time it became platinum and boasted hit singles I'm Outta Love and Not That Kind. Overall she released four albums and won more than forty awards. In 2006 she launched "Resurrection" perfume available online only. The following year she married Wayne Newton, her bodyguard.
