Anna Paquin Biography: An Academy-award New Zealand actress Anna Paquin was born on July 24, 1982, in Canada, in a family of teachers, but Anna together with her parents moved to New Zealand soon. An ordinary family appeared to be a perfect place for Anna's talents to develop. A girl revealed her acting talents after she was cast for a movie The Piano. Though Paquin had a supporting role there and critics did not like the film, Anna gained an Academy Award for best supporting role and became the second youngest winner ever being only eleven at that time. Actually, the film was an independent one and nobody expected it to become known, Paquin parents either, so it was a surprise for them when Anna was offered to continue her acting career. A girl was invited to WME Entertainment. She systematically was offered new roles but turned them down as her parents thought she was too young for stormy show business life. Nevertheless, Anna appeared in some commercials advertising an MCI telephone company. Since 1996 her acting career bloomed. Paquin starred in Jane Eyre, Fly Away Home, X-Men, Almost Famous and many others and constantly keeps on gaining new awards proving her acting talent.
