Michelle Rodriguez Biography: Mayte Michelle Rodriguez rushed into the acting world through Fast and the Furious, Lost and Resident Evil. Rodriguez was born on July 12, 1978 in San Antonio, Texas and has a mixture of Puerto Rican and Dominican Republic descent. When she was 22, she decided to take audition for the film Girlfight; she was cast and defeated 350 other candidates. She was then nominated for an Oscar and won multitude of other awards, the Best Debut Performance was just one of them. Her next genre was crime mystery, it was 3 A.M. movie. After that Rodriguez made a break and turned to commercials, though she had a supporting role in Fast and the Furious. In 2002 she appeared in Resident Evil, Blue Crush and S.W.A.T. Rodriguez also used her voice talent by voicing three video games: Driv3r, Halo 2 and True Crime: Streets of LA. Till 2005 she didn't manage to get successful roles, until she was cast for Lost, where she acted in the first season (it is 24 episodes). Her next project was a movie Battle in Seattle with Charlize Theron, Ray Liotta and Joshua Jackson in leading roles. |
